Hiya, I currently have short hair, approximately 4 inches long. I have dreaded the first three inches so have stubbies
I have plaited some very lovely SE crocheted synth natural dreads into the last inch and secured with elastics but I wondered if I could extend my real stubbies with these current dreads without having to take them out, wash my dreads and install them again ...is it possible with SE's cos they have loops on but they're such a fantastic colour match I wants them forever
Thanks x

Extending real dreads with SE's?
I may never be a tall blonde-haired beauty but what's wrong with a short dread-headed cutie?

you could cut the top loop of the SE off, unravel it a bit, then use a felting needle or crochet hook to attatch them to your dreads.

If you are planning to have natural dreads long term it is worth it to extend them with real human hair. Synth hair and human hair are going to age differently and the junction could become very obvious over time.
Human hair is expensive but if you plan to have real dreads for years it's is worth the investment.

If you want to rock them for awhile, go for it! But long term would benefit from human hair extenders.
