Braid video binge

Post by Candied_Angel » Mon Sep 06, 2010 2:40 pm

I think you all know the story well enough: went on youtube for one thing and ended up looking at about a zillion other videos about another thing. But I found these videos and thought they would be useful to some ladies out there.

A cute little tutorial for braids that look a lot like knotties:

A tutorial for corkscrew braids:
[Warning: massive mousse attack in the first 30 seconds]

A tutorial for a cute waterfall braid:

I think the last one [waterfall braid] Would look uber cute on a dread wig! ^.^

Some great tutorials there, thanks for posting them.

I think you are right; the waterfall braid would look gorgeous with dreads. I might have a go at that later on.

The corkscrew looks a much easier way than how i've always done it, though she possibly makes it look a little easier than it actually is. As for the mousse, my head feels gacky just from looking at it!
What, that? It's a spade.

The first one looks like a modified blanketstitch that would be used to make knotty no-seal dreads (Popcorn dreads?)! It's so cute!!!

I think the first one looks more like a standard three-piece plait, just made with two thin strands to one thick and pulled taut throughout.

I tried the waterfall on my hair but it was lost among the dreads. It looked beautiful on my daughter's spiral curls though. :D

The mousse in the second video was craazzyy! Got hooked on watching her tutorials though after seeing that one, she does a damn nice job!

Fairly drowned in mousse alright! Good video tutorials though.
