Aquas & blacks - too much fuzz?
I finally finished a second full set! I took a bit of a break after finishing my last one and side tracked into roving and naturals a little. Though this set I've noticed is much... fuzzier than my previous ones. I haven't really been able to figure out why that is. I don't think my technique has changed all that much, nor am I using different materials or combs.
Maybe I'm just being a perfectionist about this? Or are they really as annoyingly fuzzy as I think they are?

they look nice to me,but you can take some sharp sheers and trim up the fuzzies.

I don't generally mind fuzzy either, but these felt far too course to the touch because of it -- which was my concern.

I think they look lovely! The coarse-ness will soften with a bit of wear, they should be just fine! Love the shape to them especially!

Re: Aquas & blacks - too much fuzz?
I think they look really nice. Something I have been doing this last year for my fuzzies is to take a flat iron to them on a medium heat level. I have been experimenting a lot and I find using scissors on the fuzzies causes the dreads to fall apart faster. I used to only get about 3 or 4 wears out of my dreads. But now with using the flat iron instead of cutting I find I can get twice as many wears before they are just too trashed.

Oh also I really love how you did some of your color blending! The blue with the big black stripe looks so rad.

Re: Aquas & blacks - too much fuzz?
I agree - I prefer dreads to be slightly fuzzy/ragged/roughish - after all, real hair (which synth hair imitates) can sometimes have a mind of it's own!Reeeeeealy tight dreads don't do it for me.
Nice work!

@ ..::AtomicLox::.. Thank you! I had a thought that the wear thing might be an issue, since all of my first sets have been cleverly disposed of or worn and well-loved.
@ Synful-Synthetics I'd been doing that for a while, but head directly on the dreads kinda makes me nervous. :< And thank you! The stripes are actually color splashes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kHw9Gi5jyM
@ rivetlicker_ thank you~!

Thank you for putting the link to that video. Very cool
It used to make me nervous too but I've done it on about 20 sets now and i haven't had any problems!

I love the blue accent dreads you made, and no fuzz detected on all of the dreads

These look rad to me! I don't think they look too frizzy at all.

I think these are absolutely gorgeous! I don't really see the 'fuzz' you're talking about, but even people that sell their falls for $150 have 'fuzz'. It's just the nature of the beast. Great job!

Re: Aquas & blacks - too much fuzz?
yea i agree with some of the other comments.. i think they look nice a little fuzzy..
but u can also trim them up a bit or try to seal them again
i have noticed that when i seal them again after a few days that they tend to de-fuzz for me.

Re: Aquas & blacks - too much fuzz?
i dont think theyre too fuzzy, but what ive found helps with that is after youve sealed them dunk them in boiling water then quickly run them under cold water with the dread held vertically under the water. it will help smooth them down if it really bothers you that much
