I used merino wool for mine and they turned out really well. I have no idea what the difference is between the two, though.

hm,acutally,there is a BIG Difference

Merino Wool is very soft,it gives very clean dreads,it´s good for candy cane dreads and soft coloreffects,if desired.

Shetland Wool,Or Wool that comes from Sheeps living in higher regions of the mountains give more natrual looking dreads. It´s more srcubby, and it roves easier.

The main point is:The structure of the wool is differnt,it depends on what you want to do with it which one is the right one.

If it´s your first time roving dreads out of wool,I would recommend the shetland wool.

Yeah I saw merino wool and then next to it was welsh mountain wool.
So it's not good?
By the thumbnail it looked rough and sheepy.
lol.
What would you do if everybody hates you? Well they do.
