Ooh, I'd be up for this, preferably Leicester, but anywhere would be fine depending on funds a the time :)

I travelled to Brum on Monday from Northampton, it was £13 for an adult return so I'll tag that plan

Most trains going to Birmingham will be getting in to New Street, so this is an ideal place for people to meet if they're travelling in, either from outside the West Midlands area or within. Anyone local to Brum and its surrounding boonies will know of ways to get into town as the train and bus links are plentiful. As I recall one of the very first meets (from HH) met in New Street, so it'd be a spiritual return.

By the way, I wasn't suggesting that I would be attending this meet, only that I have good knowledge of the area and was willing to help if information on transport was needed. Considering who started this thread I'm not sure if I would be welcomed, but there's no point withholding transport information about my own city if I can give it.
I don't know if I'd jump at the opportunity to do a swap with you any time soon, but I'm not so petty as to exclude you from a meet-up. I did over-react, I know.. my only reasoning is that I'm going through some crap of my own which seems to be never-ending, but that's not really any excuse. To be honest, I'd like to see you again.. for old time's sake! :p

Oooh I'm up for this too, and I'd be bringing my boy.

Birmingham is a lot easier for me as I'm West Midlands, but I could get to Leiscester after working out the route.

Personally I'd like to do it in Leicester, as then I can actually organise it and meet everyone, give directions, etc.. so unless anyone has any massive objections, can I say it'll be in Leicester?
.. and once the weather warms up, I'm thinking! So, May?

RIGHT. This isn't really going anywhere, so I've started a facebook event thingy for this instead, as I know of a few people in Leicester who might be interested but aren't on the forum, or aren't active members and would miss this thread.. so, go here for more info - http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=1 ... 70&pending

I think this is all the info you need Madi

Right, the plan is to meet at Birmingham New Street station at midday (inside, near the exit to the taxi ranks), then we can head off to Woktastic for all you can eat sushi and then to a park (I don't know which park as I don't know Brum well enough... someone else will have to suggest parks!)

Oh & the fact that we shall morph into the blobmass :D

Hmm, I have a wedding that afternoon and (probably) derby practice on the morning. I wonder if I could swing by the meet in between?

I'm so sorry I didn't see this post! HEF stopped sending me emails a while ago and I didn't realise.. I just thought everyone was really quiet!
Also, I can't post on the forum from my phone, which is my main method of accessing the internet, cos it can't handle all the extra bits you can do in this chatbox... so I'm here today cos I'm on the laptop now, but I won't be able to post here much.. hence the facebook group.

I know not everyone uses fb, but this has actually turned into potentially quite a large gathering since I posted it there.. as mostly people don't bother checking this part of the forum for stuff, but pretty much everyone on fb checks their notifications if someone invites them to an event.
So yeah, I'll post the details here.. sorry about all this!

Is it ok if I come along, too? I know I haven't been on the board long (does the 30day/50post thing count for meetings? I'm not sure :?), but I only live a 15 minute train ride away and I'd love to meet everyone :D

It does say at the top of the page

You must have 50 post count minimum to post in A&P
- AND you must be a member for 30 days

Thank you for clarifying; I wasn't sure if that counted here, because I'm not buying or selling anything. Nevermind then, maybe next time :).

I don't think that the post count rule should count for going to meet ups, because they're clearly not going to them to just try and sell or buy stuff.

I'm quite excited about this now  It'll be lovely to meet those of you that didn't come to the london meet last year and even lovelyerer to see anyone that I have already met again! I won't be bringing the kids this time as the train journey is just a little too long for them and it'll cost me more money for Kodi's tickets! PLus, they got so tired last time that I didn't get to enjoy Camden. Are we planning on doing a little swap? I'd be up for something small. Maybe limit to £7 and the theme could be to represent your home town. Cheesy touristy gift items or perhaps something your town is famous for..
I will X-post to the FB page so sorry if you've had to read me twice.
