Has anyone in the US received their packages yet? Maybe ours are tied up in customs or something.....trying to be optimistic.

How darn annoying! And with the outrageous prices that royal mail charge to send to the US you'd think we'd actually have our items delievered on time!

IDK if anyone knows but the US has super strict guidelines when it comes to packages, they ramped up security not too long ago due to retards trying to send bomb parts & things. It does take longer now for stuff to arrive, unfortunately.

Not really, I read somewhere that it could take 4-6 weeks. Here's some info:
USA
Start date: 18th November 2010
End date: Ongoing

Update 15th February 2011:

The United States Department of Homeland Security is continuing to require increased security measures for items carried on passenger airlines. As a result, some mail entering the US from around the world, and including the UK, that would normally be sent via passenger aircraft must now travel by other means, including ships and cargo planes.

Most items, including personal letters and cards, magazines, CDs, DVDs and lightweight packets, will be delivered in the US within a few days of posting. However, there are delays of about two weeks for some heavier packets. These delays are currently affecting stamped items, franked items, and items posted under contract, with the exception of Destination Sort and/or M-Bag items.

Royal Mail is very sorry for these unavoidable delays. We have implemented a number of contingency plans to ensure as much of our customers’ mail reaches the US as quickly as possible and are continuing to work to minimise disruption to our customers, whilst ensuring we comply fully with the US directives and regulations.
Further digging I stumbled across a blog, said person posted things in November for the to arrive in January.

Yeah I posted that on the last page :)
Even though it says about the delays it doesn't mention them clearly, when I posted my parcel they didn't mention it, infact to find it on the site you have to go digging, I think when there are such long delays they should inform you at posting.
I still think it's ridiculous, customs on all shores are pretty rubbish usually delaying completely innocent post and dodgy stuff gets through time and time again.
I have a lot of friends who have received very questionable goods in the post from india and china (illegal drugs)
America has so much coastline they should be more worried about people getting things in that way as that's how they do most of the time :(

I don't think I'd class the parcel I sent as lost for quite a while yet. When I posted mine I asked about delivery time and was told it should arrive in about a week. I also asked about delivery times if I was to send over sea rather than airmail and was told I could be waiting upto 50 days! But it was a hell of a lot cheaper.

One of my concerns is what if the UK ladies resend the packages? It is very likely that this same process is just going to start over. If the packages are being delayed because of postal policies, the second packages are just going to run into the same hassles. Really, the only option is to just wait it out.

theres really no way all what 3? of us have lost packages... they are bound to come its just a matter of when.... theres no use in the u.k. girls having to resend another, plus this was a bit too expensive to go through that... i would understand if one got lost but not all of ours.
