I can't stay signed in.

Okay, I think I *partially* fixed it. The tab to tab is working, but closing the browser is not. I have one more thing to try and I'm pretty sure that's it. I hope it doesn't amputate anything...

Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't but whatever was working for me is now gone.

Anyway, I received this on the phpbb support forum:
"URL redirections do not work as the domain being used to access the board is not the true location of the board and thus the cookie will not match. If you change the server and cookie settings to match the true location then you will have to access the board using its true address."

Since we have a redirection to this url (its on a subfolder under doctoredlocks.com) it is creating cookie issues since the main url is actually at doctoredlocks.com. I've tried changing the settings to this effect, and it still doesn't like it as we are accessing them through this url. Bah.

It didn't have a problem on Shiin's server because we all went through her personal site/hair.

I am asking my hosting company, who is ever so lovely (I heart them) if they have a work around for me.

Just thought you would like to know that I *know* what it is and fix is pending.

I cannot stay logged in. Even if I am logged in already and get an email to follow a link to another thread, it makes me sign in again. I'm not blocking cookies or anything.

Hmmm... ok.

faticeira - try deleting your browser cookies and see if that helps.

So ... it worked for me this morning so maybe it is fixed? Anyone else having issues?

Weird. Do me a favor. You can get to the board through this alternate link:

This *shouldn't* fix it as the cookies settings are set to the new url, but let me know if that changes anything if you log in through there. I could temporarily set the cookies to doctoredlocks.com to see if that fixes the issues, but I have a feeling it would cause problems for others.

Let me know if you want to help me test that out.

Okay, this is the latest word from our hosing guys:

Our pointed domains are actually true addresses, as they work exactly like a regular hosting account, except they share the disk space of the main account. Getting your own account for this domain (www.hairextensionsforum.com) will not help.

I reset the server name and script path to www.hairextensionsforum.com and "/" respectively. These settings are the proper ones. I logged into your forum, and stayed logged in after closing browsers, etc...

See if this does the trick.

So as far as cookies/login/server info goes, I think this is about as good as we can get it. Is anyone still having trouble now?

I stay logged in now if I go through www.hairextensionsforum.com, instead of whatever link I was using before. Yay!

Ahaha, THERE's the problem. I was using http://www.hairextensionforum.com, not hairextensionSforum.com. It still doesn't work for me using the address without the S, but with the S, I finally finally stay signed in even if I close Firefox, etc. Yaaaay! Hooray for the S.

Ah! There it is! Okay, here's what I'm going to do.

I'm putting a redirect on the hairextensionforum.com so that it redirects to hairextensionforums.com so that the url matches the cookies. That way both urls will work and no cookies problems!

It always seems so obvious in the end!
