I banned the bot and deleted all of the posts so there's nothing there now.

I manage to come on throughout the day and see all these spambots going at it. Last night and today seemed really bad.

Mods, admin. The spam is getting beyond a joke. We used to get one or 2 every now & again. But I've logged in this morning & there are over 20 posts.

What is going on???? Is there any way to go back to a "pre-update" board, as it seems to have happened then.

It's ruining the forum (this may be an over exaggeration but it really is annoying)

This makes me wonder if there are captchas and higher security measures that can be taken upon registration?
Like I remember the HH board, it took over 2 months to get accepted because of all the spambot members that weren't approved. I had to prompt a mod from it on LJ that I wanted to join.

I have to agree with the ladies and add that there have been some spam posts of, let's say, dubious tone recently. I do report them as soon as I see them but it is troubling to see we are getting so many.

With regards to the code verification thing, a few of us were being asked to submit one at login just a short while ago, so it was used until recently. I know I moaned about it then but I hereby retract that and say that me needing to take a bit longer to login is a small price to pay when weighed against some of the stuff that is popping up so frequently.

I feel like it is spoiling the boards a bit and making it look a bit haphazard. I appreciate how hard it must be for the mods to keep a track of, I just feel like it's doing the job you guys do quite an injustice. I really hope it can be sorted somehow.
What, that? It's a spade.

guys if you feel this strongly, please PM Doc- I can't do anything about it- I am not the main admin, she is. We are working as hard as we can to get rid of spam and Doc is well aware that this is happening.

PLease bear with us, I am sure she will look into it as soon as she can.

I quoted that one too xD Someone has to stick it in their sig!

Seeing as Sarah already messaged Doc, I will not spam her! But yeah, it got out of hand.

I love what you said on the other post, Andrea.

'...deleted and denied.'

Man, power is sexy.

Didn't want to write that on the other post, though.

I am a barely concealed ball of rage at all this spam at the moment- every 5 to 10 minutes I am 'deleting and denying' a new spam member! All evening I have been doing this! so yeah, it is so the rage coming though!
