tineye reverse image search. useful for copyright!!

I posted this in a topic just now, but thought that this might be helpful http://www.tineye.com/ it searches the web for the same photo and where the photo is from, doesn't always find it but might be worth a look if you think anything has been stolen off another site. I'm sure there are other sites like it, but this is the one I use when trying to find out where images on tumblr came from

Hence why I said doesn't always find it It is worth a try though as does sometimes work, depends on what the person has done with the image.

Well I just used it to search for an image and it found 51 matches, so can't not work all the time.

There is I think (an Israeli) company working with Getty images spamming people with legal requests. They do something like tineye but a lot more accurate.

I'm sure it works sometimes, but I tried with an image of mine, that I know I have up in 2 places, and it's on quinnsters, and is multiply stolen, i know of 2 places using it currently, and it only returned 2 results, neither of them any of the ones i knew about! lol

I wonder how it works?

ive tried using it on pictures i know for a fact were stolen, but it never brought them up
i should try it again now that ive had pictures reblogged all over tumblr... hmm
