Is this wrong?

Post by Dreadie_Lover1 » Thu Jul 07, 2011 5:34 pm

Hey

I came across a thread on a different forum, its a tutorial for dreads but its different to the way everyone on here makes them.

This is the link:

Am I right in thinking shes doing it wrong?

Well they don't look much different to not backcombing!

The short answer is that there isn't a 'wrong' way to make dreads.

I have seen and tried lots of different methods personally and I don't think any of them is 'right' There are methods I prefer, and methods that are used by more people and that's basically it.

Same as pretty much anything else, in fact.
What, that? It's a spade.

I think what has happened is the girl who made the tutorial has had real dreads done (as she mentioned in the thread) using the 'twist and rip' method where you do need to twist the hair and thought this step was needed to make fake dreads. It was mentioned that she is making dreads for a doll which is why they are so skinny.
