Game of Thrones wigs

Post by Librarynerd » Fri Jun 24, 2011 1:02 am

Is it just me or are there some really bad wigs on this show? Particularly Daenerys Targaryen. I'm guessing the actress didn't what to bleach her hair but I'm sure they could have made a better looking wig. It just looks so stiff! Real super blond hair usually has a fine wispy texture.
I love the show but the bad hair is distracting:)

Are there other shows with bad wigs or extensions that drive you nuts?

I don't think it's a wig, but when Fred becomes Illyria in Season 5 of Angel, the blue parts of her hair look REALLY bad in some episodes.. like they used cheap hair mascara or something.

Emilia Clarke's hair is definitely a wig, she's a dark brunette normally.

I was watching the fifth element again the other night, Leelo's hair is very cool but if they had put synth dreads on her it would have been even better.

Bumping this to mention the girl in Dead Snow. Her dreads look like they might be the ol' hairspray and flat iron variety, because you can see her roots in some shots and they aren't extensions [or at least not that I can tell] but they manage to look smooth AND sloppy at the same time. It's truly baffling.
