@patricia*star - I'm the same with headphones. Plus I wear sunglasses all the time as well as I feel naked without them and I like to hide

I don't wear dreads as much as I'd like, but I do feel much better when I wear them. I feel more like me, get more excited about my make-up and my outfit etc if I have them in.

the lenses in mine are always an odd colour. I had orange ones, which were great as I always felt warm :D I need to buy new sunnies every year though cos I'm terrible at dropping them, forgetting them & breaking them.

I used to be terrible but since I acquired my wonderful pink ones I've had them for about 4 or 5 years now and I guard them with my life.

I have two pairs. My pink ones that I wear the most, and some big dark ones that I save purely for really sunny days :D

I did have some lovely DKNY aviators but someone stole them
They were a really expensive gift from The States and I was NOT happy!

I've got a bit of a soft spot for designer shades...my pink ones are D&G, I loves them

I'm completely with everyone on this. I've had dreads either real or fake for a looooooong time. I had my first set of natural dreads for almost 20 years - I only really got rid of them because the weight was too much to handle. I then had brushable hair for a few months and totally, totally hated it with a passion. I despised even going out of the house. Not to mention my natural hair is curly, frizzy and hard to manage - trying to style it and make it look reasonable took up way too much of my time!
Once I discovered I could do my own hair extensions I was just so happy, rocked them for a few years, and now I've gone for the natural dreads again!
But I'm the same with my other stuff though - I hate seeing myself without my piercings in, particularly my septum jewellery and my plugs. It's just not right!

Yeah, I've lost my nose stud & I feel odd. :( I really wanna put my dreads back in too, but I have things that need to be sorted out before I do.

Ahh I am like that with my piercings, and if I have to cover all my ink up I feel very uncomfortable! I guess the crazy hair was also a huge part of my identity for so long, combined with tattoos and piercings. Now the hair is toned down a bit, I still need the other things! Its all very interesting really... :)

Exactly. I did my dissertation at uni on identity and body mods etc. Back then I never thought I'd be without dreads

I definitely understand that.. I use to feel so awwwwkward if people looked at me while I wasnt wearing hair, or dressed alternatively, or whatever. I actually look pretty 'normal' at the moment, and Im ok with that. Im so much more confident in myself, if people look at me I just ignore it. (Thats not to say that everyone who dresses alternatively is insecure, I just know thats why I did)..
