How to make Standard Roving Dreads
here is a wonderful tutorial by Abz
http://www.angelfire.com/freak2/rovingtutorial/1.htm
to add to this, I advise if you are not terribly strong or your dreads seem loose, re-felt them a second time.
Also- to get rid of the line that sometimes appears down the roving, twist the wool as it come out of the water.
You can tear the dread apart a little, re-dip it and re- roll
If you still have a line, re-wet the area and re-roll, twisting as you go.
If you still have it you can use a felting needle to pull he wool through and back to blend it.
Also, I find it helps to felt on a hard surface. I have a large chopping board that I have taped a towel to

I've always used a different technique with my dreads - which makes them come out really well tapered and strong - but this tut was really awesome for showing some shortcuts.. I have had it bookmarked for a good year or so now
