2) How many linkies would you need for a full head using the bonded/pre tipped hair method?

The answers I know offhand:
1) The most important thing is that they are silicone lined. I'm not sure if the extra-long ones come in silicone lined.
2) 200-300 (However many pre-tips you use, plus a few for safety)
3) Less than 100
7) The most important thing, in my opinion, is to use pliers ("ring closing tools") with smooth inner surfaces. Pliers with ridged inner surfaces (like most hand-tool pliers) will smush the soft metal of the ring, deforming it and making it likely to fold over and trap the hair during removal.
Also, always use ring opening pliers (the kind with the circular indent in the jaws) to open, instead of regular hand-tool pliers; if you have the angle even slightly wrong with regular pliers, you'll fold the ring over (trapping the hair) instead of pushing it open.
Have fun! The microring weave is my favorite method for human hair!
