Washing dreads
Ok so i was just wondering what is the best way to wash synth dreads?
And do they go loose after you wash them?
sorry if this is in the wrong place.

Re: Washing dreads
i've always been too scared to throw mine in the machine so i hand wash mine in basin of warm water and a squirt of shampoo then hang dry them. they won't come loose and most of the time they will come out a bit tighter as heat seals dreads.

Re: Washing dreads
I suggested to mum that when I'm finished with these dreads in my hair, that I'd like to throw them in the machine (in a pillow case of course!) and she was like, NO!
Haha, guess it's FEBREEZE and AIRING time!

Re: Washing dreads
I washed mine on a 40 degree quick wash cycle.
I put a bobble round the middle of them all, and another bobble around each of the ends.
Put them in a pillow case and put a bobble round that, then tied it in a knot.
(Lots of bobbles then)
Worked fine, and they smelt nice when they came out

Re: Washing dreads
I mix one part shampoo with two parts water, and I kind dip my hands in it, and then-- scrub/palm roll the dreads. Once their all wet/soapy, I let them sit for like 5 minutes, and then I wash em out, and hang them up on a .. hanger over a towel .
p.s- I use vanilla shampoo. Theres something about dreads smelling like vanilla-- mmmm.

Re: Washing dreads
I usually do bulk washes of dreads. Maybe four or five different colours at once. I do a 40 delicate cycle and they are fine.
