Thanks! I will try to post a tutorial on this. unfortunately it is difficult to take pics while you are doing it because you don't really have a spare hand! I'll see if I can recruit a photographer :)

[quote="atomiklox"]Here's a dressier look I like to do:

I pull up sections and tie them in a knot. I do three knots down the center back and then begin twisting and tucking all the dreads left hanging. Not a single pin.

agh. i can NOT wait to try that updo, it is so cute.

I usually do my dreads like this -

Start with a really high ponytail (can be achieved by lying on your back on a bed and tie them up from there), like on top of your head rather than at the back. You can either put all your dreads in or pull out a few at the front or nape of the neck, however you like. Then either leave the dreads loose like a fountain or knot them up and pull random ones out. Or wrap them round like a bun to get a beehive. There are these little claw type clips that are really good for holding dreads in place.
Just do what ever really but this way you get the bigness of the dreads more on top of your head rather than at the back of it (which I find can make the weight pull on my neck). And because they are on top of your head you can also sleep with it and then not have to do your hair in the morning :i2:
