Newbie question on alternative sealing

Hi all :i2:

I have a Newbie question on making the thicker dreads (much like steam sealed ones) without a steamer. At the moment I'm trying to re backcomb some of my older dreads that have unraveled upon wear. I've tried a straightening iron, but all I got was nothing but thin little pencil dreads, and I'm trying to make some really, very, huge think dreads. I have found that even when using KK, I still get the Velcro like feel to them, so that's why I'm trying to go for the thicker ones, in hope that they won't be so clingy to everything. Thanks! :i2:

You can pour boiling water over them as you twist?
Put a big bowl under your dread and twist a bit, pour boiling water over dread carefully obvs, twist some more etc

the velcro feel does go, as they get worn all the little fuzzies get pushed down.
back comb the hell out of them, ;)
for fatter puffier ones what i do is seal them as tight as i can leave them to settle for a bit then untwist them kinda thing but not completely and open them up as you are doing it, but not loasds so they are coming completely unsealed, so you could use the boiling water method and then wait til they have fully drip dried then do it :D
