Question - Thin hair, DE or SE?

Hi All!

I've had synthetic dreads in the past, and they were double ended. Now that I'm about a decade older and getting on in years, my hair is getting a little thinner and finer. Now that I'm planning on going to synthetic dread route again, I was left wondering - now that the texture of my hair has changed, should I stick with double ended, hoping it'll add more volume? or should I try single ended, and just use more of them? I'm not quite sure.

From what I've been seeing, the predominance seems to be for single ended, double seems harder to find?

Oh, also, I wanted to do platinum and white, but would they look 'dirty' over time?

Thanks everyone for your input. :)

i have thinner hair and i use both. i put the single ends around the hairline and doubles evrywhere else. if you are a smoker, platinum and white can take on a dingy or yellow color. the more you smoke, the faster they will look not so good. it also depends alot on how long you keep them in and how often you wash them.

I'd actually like a little insight on the single vs double as well...

Right now, I'm attaching small acrylic yarn dreads to each of the SE dreads I'm braiding in, just because they're WAY lighter than KK, and because I'm not the best at making DEs... But I imagine that DE would be better in general for adding volume (and agreed on SEs around the hairline as well!)

Good luck! Can't wait to see them!
