Any advise for removing the plastic smell?

I know, this will sound super dumb, as synthetic dreads are just that: synthetic.

BUT, I gave away a set of dreadfalls (100% kanekalon) and received a complaint that they smelled bad, like "chemicals". Granted, my response was "Uh, they're basically made of plastic. That's what they're suppose to smell like."
However, is there a way to neutralize the plastic smell?
