How to do this dread updo

Hello everyone--so I was looking at some pictures of dreads on facebook and came across this updo:

How is this done? I am about to be getting similar length synths and want to be able wear them like this for festival season. Any thoughts?

I can't be certain because but I think it looks like a half install, half dreadfall combo. Just a few dreads installed in the hair for support pulled back into a ponytail and then the fall just tied over it.

I guess even if it was a full install, it would probably be the same idea--put a bunch of dread up in a pony tail and then drape the rest over? I guess I will have to experiment!
