Color merge Newbie ?

Post by Winzadreads » Sat Feb 11, 2012 4:55 pm

Hi I'm looking to make a set of natural looking de dreads and want to blend with my natural hair (dark brown) but I have a few "tones" in my hair would it be best to buy a few shades and mix them up to try matching my natural colur or would a block colour look ok?

Block color would be okay, but really it depends what style you like. If you prefer the solid color go with that, but if you like blends either would blend wonderfully.

That definitely seems like you got plenty of hair. Blending is one of my favorite things to do with dreads. It's more than a month later so I'm sure you've found some information, but if you feel stuck on blending, there are tutorials from Ikickshins (http://ikickshins.net/hairguide/z-august07.php), Doclocks and I think Rivetlicker has a video tut.

Hope your dreads have come out well and to see some pics of your progress. :)
