Re: Ouch!!!
My thumbs are okay, but as of a few months ago I've got carpal tunnel in both wrists (looks like 11 years of dreading finally caught up with me!) I wear braces most of the time now.
Sometimes I get tennis elbow too. I think backcombing is what causes it.

Re: Ouch!!!
I only ever make a few at a time because I used to get terrible RSI in my thumbs and wrists from dreading.
Be careful and don't overdo it!

Re: Ouch!!!
My wrists only hurt if I don't take breaks [I also suffer from carpel tunnel, from years of writing/drawing/painting/sewing/typing, and now dreading, ick] though for most painful dread-related injury, I think the time I stabbed myself in the face with a crochet hook while trying to pull hair through a particularly knotted dread was the worst. It got stuck, so I yanked a little too hard to pull it through, and the next thing I knew I had hook embedded in my cheek. Not my best moment, and beats my carpel tunnel pain hands down.

I am the queen of carpel tunnel due to dreading. Its one of many reasons I took a break from dreading.

If I'm working an entire day i get blisters on my pointing fingers. It also depends on how hard i'm twisting them.
Thats why I prefer making naturals - no twisting

Yes. the twisting is what gets me too! My hands lock up sometimes. It's the most annoying feeling.
