Someone has suggested to me that the cherry red may be too shiney or pinky for what I wanted *facepalm* and that I might like the tomato or velvet red. Can I also see pix of those in relation to the others I mentioned?

Thanks!

Sorry about the sucky lighting; it's been foggy here all day.

The closest match to PH kirschrot is cherry red; next in line is tomato red, which is similar but doesn't have any pink in it.

Ok so the cherry red looks like a good match to the BH or PH :) Thank you so much! I think I will get a few packs of this, but before I place my order, I wanted to get a little feedback on 3 other colors tho. Dark red, soft red, velvet... would they classify a warm or cool toned red, are they light/med/dark in range, and would they be called intense or muted? Has anyone used them / as accents in a set with burgundy, 99J and/or cherry red? pics of any of those colors in dreads *especially together* would be cool.

Velvet's warm; it's in the same ballpark as #99J (any brand that does the blended version except BNG) or #4/350/red hot.

Dark red is pretty much like regular burgundy but much darker, and the fiber is shiny.

Soft red is warm and light, but not as bright as fire engine red. It's more muted.

That does help! So is "soft red" lighter or darker than tomato?

Are any of the shades tyou carry similar to Buyhair's Chili or Cinnamon?

Soft red is much lighter than tomato red.

You can make cinnamon by blending dark red and burgundy. I'm not sure about chili; it isn't on Buyhair's color ring. If you know what number it is, I can check it against the manufacturer's color ring.

Can someone post side by side pics of Buyhair's "Light Red" #PC12, "Antique Red" #PC14 and "Dark Red" #67? Or pics of them in dreads? On my monitor they all look identical, I think they used the same swatch lol... I'm trying to find shades correlating in level to 99J (dark) Burgundy (medium) and Cherry Red (lighter) but on the neutral to warm red end of the spectrum rather than red violet. I *think* that from what IKS said, BNG's Velvet might be a warmer version of 99J and Tomato red might correlate to IKS's and BH's Cherry red, but I'm not 100% sure - I would like to see how the other BH colors fit into that lineup as well, including Chilli and Cinnamon, but their site doesn't list numbers for those.

Am I being slightly obsessive? Perhaps  For something I'm going to wear on my head for months I don't think perfection is too much to ask do you? :i12:

P67/Dark Red at the top (not sure what BH calls it), PC12/Soft Red in the middle (I think BH calls this one light red), PC14 at the bottom.

And in this picture, PC12 is the one on the far right and P67 is the third from the right.

Tomato red is a blend of which colors exactly? How close is it to sweet red?

Tomato red is almost identical to sweet red, but it's not shiny and it's very slightly cooler. It's a blend of burgundy, red, and one of the natural reds.. I want to say #350, but it's hard to tell because the blend is really thorough.

From left to right: deep cherry, tomato red, sweet red, burgundy.

Does anyone know if there's a shade of red in any brand of KK that's a darker version of BNG's Velvet? It's such a lovely blended shade, but a bit lighter, like maybe a shade, than my hair, and 99J is a bit too dark and way too purple. My hair would be in the hairdye chart, like a level 3/4 reddest red. BH's cinnamon seems fairly dark but not sure if it's darker than Velvet without a side by side comparison, and tho I have Velvet I do not have cinnamon to compare. Dark Red seems darker as well, but I can't tell if it's got a violet/burgundy hue (which I do NOT want) or if its just a straight up darker red. Can anyone help?

Buyhair's pink lilac is similar if you can't find that exact color.

Hi. Unfortunately the links of my color comparison photos have changed, so the photos on the first page of this thread aren't showing. I cannot correct the links in the post, since they weren't posted by me.

So. All my comparison photos are here: http://dreadviolet.com/albumi/kk

Sorry.

Buyhair's Light Orchid looks just like this, it's a similar shade to pink lilac but with a matt finish.

They're the purples on the left in this picture, they look a bit more blue than irl due to them sitting next to all the pink and the colour balance on the camera :)
