Blush for beginners

Post by Miss_Panda » Tue Jun 29, 2010 9:50 pm

Im looking for a nice blusher, but not sure what shade would suit me best. I want something natural looking I'm quite pale and want to add a bit of colour to my face :)

What shade would you suggest? I'm currently looking at these

as for £3.50 it's not a lot of money if i don't like the way it looks, if none of them are any good (in case someone else on here has used them) please tell me a different brand. My pores do tend to clog up (i also have dry sensitive skin) so unsure if you can get blushers that don't clog your skin up?

I actually use the ELF regular stuff and I think it works well. I use a small amount of Flushed which gives enough colour to look natural. Out of those I'd personally use Mellow Mauve since it seems to be the least 'browny' toned. I think brown tones look a lot better on darker skin, but it could be that I've seen too many 'chavs' using bronzer for blush!

Saying that, my Flushed is actually a totally different colour to what it looks like on the screen. Anyway, I think sometimes using a small amount of a darker colour looks better than using a lot of a paler colour. Doesn't look so much like you're wearing blusher, if that makes sense? Also, they are quite shimmery, and can look a bit silly if you layer too much on!

You're also not quite as chavvy as the girls I've seen! ;)

I think the key is just knowing how to use the stuff, and knowing what colours to use on your skin. I know my skin is really the wrong tone for bronzer!

It seems to suit me for some reason and I'm very pale (MAC NC15 is a little dark for me). The one I have is a very subtle bronzer so I don't look like a clown or anything - I'm wearing it in all my make-up show offs. It's a cheap 17 one I got as a present and it's lasted me nearly two years already and I still have loads left
