Need a good black

Post by LittleMissHated » Mon Sep 01, 2008 7:14 pm

Can anyone recommend a black that gets your hair really black? The one I've been using for a couple of years is now just making my hair dark brown which really shows up against my dreads when I wear falls.
Help?

Well I always used Clairol Nice & Easy and my hair was always jet black.

What brand are you using?

Seconded. Nice n Easy is awesome. If the black isn't black enough, then try the blue-black, which I find to be even blacker than black when the blue sheen fades from it. (blacker than black? yeah, you know what i mean! heh)

Thirded! I used Nice n' Easy natural black over my natural blonde hair for years, always came out blacker than black without fade :)

agreed, clairol will not budge and make it proper jet black, the only thing is you'll have to wait for it to grow out as it doesn't bleach out, ever!

My only advice is, unless it's been previously bleached, stay away from Loreal, it's awful. Me and my cousin both used it over virgin hair and it washed out ridiculously easily. Like... actually WASHED OUT. My hair was mousy to start with and ended up only a little bit darker after a week, same with the red - though it left my hair a bit orangey which I quite liked.
And yes I mean permanent dyes too >.<
I think I used their blue-black. I'm thinking about going back to black for school, so I think i'll try Clairol ^__^

When I dye my hair black, I use Clairol Balsam color. It works, it doesn't fade and it's cheap... it's like 4 dollars for one application here. o.O

I second on staying away from L'Oriel, their hair colour sucks! I've tried their blue, black & purple, and each of them washed out within 2 weeks!
