Normal colored Temporary hair dye?

Post by webofsolitude » Tue Sep 16, 2008 3:23 pm

Hey guys!
I need your help! I am in a wedding in about two weeks and the bride wants me to have normal colored hair for the wedding, My hair is currently manic panic vampire red. I don't think my hair can survive another bleaching and I want my hair to still be vampire red after this wedding. So I was wondering if anyone knew of a temporary hair dye that comes in "normal" colors that will wash out? Thanks guys!!

Temporary dyes can be very tricky. Depending on the porosity of the hair, sometimes the dye will wash out in a couple of weeks, and other times you can be looking at months or permanent staining. Damaged hair is the most susceptible to permanent staining, so since you indicated your hair is damaged, I wouldn't recommend trying one.

Have you considered a wig? They're the best option by far for a quick, temporary colour change.

i'd just wear a wig saves you from dying your hair again.

Manic Panic has two semi-permanent browns. They're both the Amplified formula. Cobra is similar to #10 and Nefertiti is like #6 or #8 but more reddish.

It might be worth it to try a wig, or if you didn't want to spend much I would say go with a spray-in temporary color that washes right out. Since it's nearly Halloween I'm sure tons of stores are carrying it right now.
That stuff has a tendency to get sort of crunchy though, so you might want to wear your hair in a updo to hide that fact. And don't go in the rain or it will run down your face!

I second this :) Wigs are pretty cheap these days!

Wait,whens the wedding?

I once had bleached hair and vampire red, then decided after about a week of not washing it to preserve the colour I was sick of it,started scrubbing with soap and it was out within a week.
Use a dandruff shampoo and wash it every day but condition too.
It should fade enough to be a passable natural red,or you can then have a nice base for a ginger colour, which in turn will be a good base for your red.
