Any show offs - not hair related - go here!

1) You must keep posts PG13.
2) If your pics are likely to be considered a little 'saucy' (sexy / suggestive shots are fine- so long as they are arty!) put NOT WORK SAFE/ NWS in your title.
3) When replying to a post, remember this is NOT the critique section.
4) Comments like " I love your eyes/ my god you are hot" are not helpful! Include them but please comment on the item/s being shown off too!
5) This Show Off section is only for showing off non hair related products, not making sales. Please make no references to eBay, A and P, or any kind of sales. You may offer the same item for sale in A and P, but no cross linking between A and P and Show Off. Show Off should be a place to comment and encourage each other; we don't want Show Off to become a billboard for sellers.

Show off your artwork here!

Post by PixiStyx » Thu Jan 22, 2009 3:10 pm

I searched for drawing/art threads and didn't see any general 'free for all' ones, so I figured I'd start my own.

Feel free to post any type of artwork here, be it drawing, sculpture or... I don't know, whatever you define as art.

I'll start. :i2:

This is something I did last night. Just pencil, pen and marker (one being a big fat permanent one because I'm poor... took me forever and it was very painful.). I think it turned out alright. Sorry for the poor quality though, I don't have a scanner so my digital camera was the next best(?) thing.

My 'humanized' version of Misdreavus from Pokemon (holycrapilovepokemon).

My cosplay of a moogle from Final Fantasy.
Image

My cosplay of Nanaka Nakatomi from the anime Magic User's Club.
Image

Some of my chainmaille work. This stuff was originally for my sister to wear at my wedding, but it looked really bad with the bridesmaids dresses, so I'm just keeping the maille for myself.

Took your suggestion and changed it. And I love your piece of the campbells soup. The dragon is lovely too!

My deviantart is http://akumaraven.deviantart.com
However, my most recent stuff isn't up yet. Got some paintings and HUGE drawings in the works to go there too.

Thanks very much. :) I've only gone through 1 year of university, but the life drawing classes are SOOO helpful. Trust me, by the end of the year you will be way better than you ever thought at it. Just keep at it. I'd love to see some of your work, too. :)

PixiStyx that drawing is beautiful, i love the way youve drawn the features, your style reminds me of artist Sas Christian.

neonpixie. great stuff, i love that first one!

i have barely any art on my photobucket...and i haven't done anything 2d in years...but here is some fun stuff i still like

i took a printmaking course in 1st year uni and here are a few things from it

dry point: self portrait and portrait of my boyfriend. in a non literal kind of way obviously
and as usual, ignore my terrible photography skills

Image
Image

my first lino cut: (bad ink! bad roller! but i like the image)
Image

hand drawn, scanned and digitally colored (sorry it's huge)
Image

also hand drawn, digitally colored
Image

a sculpture i did last year..it ended up being cast as a hollow silicone head, but i don't have a photo of that right now, just the clay:
Image

this is probably at least 10 years old but i am stillfond of it..hand drawn, i think the color is pencil, not digital. don't remember! haha
Image

sure wish i had more to show :( stupid computer kablooey

I drew my own because I couldn't find them on teh interwebs! (Photoshop skillz LOLZ).

Image

Image

Little version of me, drawn with a trackpad haha. NSFW = swearing xD

I don't think you could consider these art, but this is what I used to build at work! Soldering is a bit of an art. As well as looming all the wiring together so it's neat. My boss was impressed when I did it. He thought I wouldn't've been able to without assistance.

Image dimensions too big for the forum.

I made this box a few halloweens ago. Too bad I gave it to some unappreciative idiot male.

miss isis are you drawing from life or photos or imagination?

the only constructive criticism i have is the relative size of hair covered head to unhair covered head, if that makes sense. get some good reference photos (even looking through something like istock photography is good, lots of good clear photos..just don't draw directly from them) and look at the ratio of face to scalp. otherwise, i think you have quite a bit of talent. it's just technical skills to worry about

miss asphyxia..you know your work rocks :P hehe but i'll say it anyway. very nice work. have you taken any type of formal education in drawing?

Thanks :) I', looking at model photos for the faces, I never enjoyed portraits or people drawing so it's probably myfirst attempt since GCSE art....oh God 10 years ago, getting old!
I shall take this on board, really helpful!

oooh...everyones art is amazing, but my favourites have to be Miss Asphyxia's steampunk girl, and Miss Isis' first drawing. ^_^

I'm not amazing but I wanted to show off a drawing I did, it's a first for me with doing the full thing in pencil crayons. I have to post a link...it's defintely not work safe. =P
