Illamasqua do one which I have on good authority to be rather fantastic.

OPI do a matte navy blue which I covet but it is incredibly rare.

Weirdly, and I know this is surprising, but Boots 17 do a matte topcoat which I actually found better than the Orly and Nubar ones that I have tried. Rimmel also do one which is supposedly quite good.

If you're going to buy matte polishes rather than a top coat I've been really impressed with my recent impulse buys from Avon of all places. They do stunning black, grey and dark blue, all matte

I got the blue matt polish from Avon yesterday. I'm currently using OPI Nail Envy as I've never had strong nails & I've bitten them for as long as I can remember. This is day 5 of not biting them, I'm pleased with myself

I don't have very impressive nails, BUT I am trying to grow them. I've been using OPI nail envy. Anyway, the temptation to bite them is still there, so I figured if I paint them I may be as tempted?

Be patient and they will grow! I think with polish on you should be less tempted to bite as you would get a mouth full of polish. Plus you will be reminded every time you got to bite them that you want to wear polish and have long nails.

I used to wear fake nails, sometimes I'm tempted to go back, but I know how bad they can be in the long run. so I'd like to try & grow my own. I'd love to kick the nail biting habit, I've bitten them for as long as I can remember.

I took this pre-edgegrooming, but it's what I painted mine earlier today Black with a matte topcoat and regular (shiny) purple messy spirals. I thought I'd post since the topic of matte came up. I used Sinful Colors black on black, Hard Candy's matte top coat and Konad's Nail Art Pen.

China Glaze Crackle in Black Mesh. I also have this in Cracked Concrete and Crushed Candy and I am in love with them all.

Layered over China Glaze Alpine Snow (which is crap and took 3 coats to achieve anything resembling opacity). This was applied on Wednesday so there is some tip wear, but actually it's minimal considering it's been on for four days!

Got the Rimmel Matte Finish topcoat today, tried it out over Rimmel Black Cherries which is a very dark burgundy. I love it, I have to say
