Style Admiration and inspiration Thread

Post by Noodles! » Sat May 30, 2009 8:59 pm

I think it's safe to say the majority of members here have what would be considered as 'unique' style when it comes to fashion, and thought it would be interesting to see where people get their inspiration from, or simply the kind of styles they admire.

I could spend hours looking at cool outfits and thought it would be nice to post a place where we can all compile photos of awesomely dressed people :D

I shall get the ball rolling!...

Beginning with lots of colour... SISEN!

His outfits are just so... epic! They must they ages, but he always seems to be crazily bright ^^

We already have an inspiration thread... so maybe "style" and hair should be in the same one? Beats having to find each topic when you're trying to find something specific....... :)

Erm sure, that makes sense! But then maybe the original poster should change it to Hair/Style Inspiration? Or could it be moved here to make it 'non hair specific?'

Oh the confusion! :i9:

Letty - Your cosplay is amazing =O Haha love the sign as well

If we are talking about Sisen then I can't leave out Ayumi!

I guess her and Sisen are kind of similar in style, but she is just sooo cute, I haven't seen one outfit of hers that I don't like.

Glam bands, Hanoi Rocks in particular, have the biggest influence on my style, I'd say. Skinny/tight jeans with cowboy or slouchy boots, customised colourful shirts, loads of bangles and earrings and scarves and shiny accessories..

Most of my inspiration comes from designers like Rick Owens and Ann Demeulemeester but if we are talking individuals then I'm always a fan of Alison Goldfrapp.

My tastes have changes somewhat over the past few years. In my early twenties I was very much about the alternative cyber look, with lots of futuristic space-kid clothes but I've mellowed out into what my other half affectionately calls "gothninja", ie lots of layers to create a deconstructed look. While I appreciate the effort that Sisen and the like put into creating outfits, I think it's definitely a style for the under 25's.

AAAHHH!!!!!
*Jumps around excitedly flapping arms and whatnot*
I KNEW she had to be an actual professional model! I knew it!

Okay, sorry. I saw the picture that's on her first page, second from last, on one of those myspace blog archives of different hairstyles. I've been trying to figure out who she was for MONTHS!
I'm going to get a similar haircut very soon, actually.
Oh my god, I'm so excited.
I'm sorry. But this has totally made my day. :P

She's one of the most beautiful girls I've ever seen, I normally get annoyed at models because I always see the mainstream with long hair, which draws bad attention to short haired girls.

I want to have a full head of blue hair, like her its lovely.

Glad I made someone's day :D

And I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but she's just dyed her hair black in the last week or so. The blue is no more, sadly. She's still ridiculously gorgeous though.

One of my style inspirations is a blogger called Gala Darling. I'm not sure how well known she is?

Zoetica lookes awesome! I LOVE Gala's blog, she's so sweet and has a realy cool style.

I have to admit that at the moment cause of work commitments I rarely get a chance to look the way I want to :( no crazy hair, Tat's etc. But Uni is calling and I think I may explode into some for of crazy neony-ness this september!

I think I was more attracted to the fact she had blue short hair rather than long. Shame she dyed it black means I can copy her now haha! All I have to do is grow my hair and dye it slightly yipeee!

I wouldn't really say I have many inspirations in style, alot of it comes from models in magazines and on the internet when buying clothes. I definately go and envy the more simplier style of dressing. (Although I really love when people go for loads of mish mesh together, it looks fab!)
