I couldn't see it in mine, but ours is only in a town, not a Tesco extra or anything. I did say to the Mr I'd go to the big one to get some quail eggs so I'll hunt for oat bran too.

I have been somewhat absent from the weight watchers & exercise threads for a while now, having come off track of weight loss around Xmas time. I've had blood tests done and I don't have an underactive thyroid, so the only explanation for me really struggling to lose weight is that I'm just not trying hard enough. So it is now time to get off my lazy arse, and get on with it! As of tomorrow, I am back on no-carbs, not forever, just until I've lost a decent amount of weight, at which point I will re-introduce fruit and good wholegrain carbs into my diet. Wish me luck everyone.....

Bit late to this, but you can buy the oatbran from sainsburys. It comes in a tube or bag it's an orangey colour and with all the porridge and cereals :) Im finding the best way to eat that is to mix it into a yoghurt. All the recipes using the oatbran were quite horrible, i found.

Weight gain can sometimes result from stress. Have you considered how you could de-stress.

I'm sorry Sarah. I suck. Life happened >.< You may have seen some of these links by now, but they may be helpful somewhat.

Thanks Vics. I've been using http://mydukandiet.com/recipes/ I'm also blogging what I eat & I found a list of the 100 foods. I was shocked to read the carb content on yoghurts the other day in tesco, I try to keep under 10g & I found WW yoghurt to be on average 5g, so that's handy.

I've been on it a week & have had very little slip ups, due to my hours at work exercise is something I'm struggling to fit it & I'm not a fan of the old water - I'd much rather be drinking coffee. I *still* crave biscuits, jellies & what have you but have been very, very good & only had 2 small jelly babies. I also have a tendency to eat wheat flakes, but whatever.

Oh, I slipped up today & had spring rolls for my dinner, but I'd been out the house for a good 13 hours & was STARVING when I got home.

I've lost 7lbs :D Considering last week aunty flo tried to visit me I think I've done well, normally I'd go to tesco & buy lots of haribo, biscuits & chocolate. Richard also reckons the 7lb was purely water due to TOTM

Tomorrow is PP. I don't like PP very much.

Congrats on the 7lbs. You don't actually have too long to go now do you? I'll try and help but its late and I'm not sure how coherent I'll be. XD

Be wary. WW actually have added sugar in them. There are only two types of yoghurt that I have found that are SF and they are both only found at Tesco. But they're at two different Tesco ¬_¬ Neither are very well known brands. Just today I caved in(We don't shop at Tescos all that much as its too far to walk) and bought some with sugar in. I'd suggest if you stick with the ones with sugar, to not have more than one in a day. Some people do and have absolutely no problem. I'm hoping that I manage the same.

You can have a handful of sugar free sweets a day or make your own jellies using SF jelly crystals with added geletine/agar agar. I know there is a recipe around if I can find it, but it is that simple. Otherwise, just look for sweets made for diabetics, they should be SF. Or http://www.aquarterof.co.uk/boiled-crun ... 2_207.html. You can apparently also have SF marshmallows if you can find them. Just be careful not to eat the whole bag. That happens a lot it seems. XD

I don't know if you know about the tolerated items you're allowed in moderation, but if not, here's a list.
Tolerated Foods for Cruise onwards
Note: if you are experiencing stagnation, please avoid TF every day.

Tolerated food is food you can have starting from the Cruise phase.
You must remember that you are allowed of two items per day.

Fat free fruit yogurts (with bits) 1
Plain soya yogurt 1
Corn Flour 20g
3% fat cream (double or single) 30g (1 tbs)
1 coffee spoon of sugar free low fat cocoa powder (no more than 20% fat)
Wine (red/white) for cooking 3 tbs
Spiced Goat sausage 50g
Poultry sausage 100g
Soya milk (glass) 15cl
7% fat cheese 30g
Rhubarb (cooked) 100g
Oil 3 drops (3g)
Gaspacho (not home made) one glass
Soy sauce 1 tsp
Extra light Philidelphia 30g
Light cheese like laughing cow 30g
Custard Powder as "Birds" 1 table spoon per day with sweetener and skimmed milk
Goji berries: Attack phase: 1 TBS/day and on PP days - Cruise phase: 2 TBS/day on PV days
I've just found goji berries. Honestly quite a welcomed sight after no fruit for a while.

I don't know about Lisa(Although she probably didn't do it too often as she reached her TW amazingly fast) but I slip up quite regularly. I suck a lot at times. The past two months, my weight loss has stalled a bit(like a loss of 10lbs max) because I reached the weight I was before I became complacent. That was my my main goal. I hope I've kicked that now but we'll see. I'm 30lbs down today in total. I'm halfway. Hopefully not too long til my apple a day. Anyway, don't stress the slip ups. Just carry on. Its not going to do you any good fretting as stress makes you retain weight and that is the last thing you want right now. >.< I also drink a lot of coke zero, but I water it down with ice. I drink mostly water at night but I like having flavour too. It never seemed to do me any harm.

Have you been using the Dukaners forum? The people can be... Yeah. But the recipes are often quite good. BBQ chicken is one of my favourites.

I don't know much about what your daily foods are but to incorporate oat bran, its burgers, meatballs, crispy chicken, meatloaf, cake and porridge mostly for me. Burgers is possibly my favourite at the moment. If I get extra light babybels for my tolerated, I cut them up and stick half inside a burger and have melted cheese in the middle of the burgers. I often top with FF cottage cheese which is another favourite.

I also eat a lot of lean deli meats. Need to be less than about 4%. Snacks for me often include turkey ham. Its pretty good to cook with too. You can always do little egg/turkey ham baskets. In a silicone muffin tray, I line it with turkey ham and break the egg into the centre. Oven cook til the eggs are done. Great for PP days. :D

I eat a lot of eggs. More often, more than the two recommended. But it seems that unless you have problems with cholesterol, it shouldn't have any effect on you. Hard boiled eggs are great to have in the fridge or mashed up with cottage cheese to make a sort of egg mayo. Good for salads or just wrapped up in deli meats.

TOM does slow you down a chunk. I generally find I leave my weight loss until the day after I finish. However recently, I have been a little naughty around that time. Oops.

I'm trying to think of pretty much what I eat but I'm about stuck. You do however have an essay to read(sorry). I just hope some of it is useful.

Yes, thank you.

I think my TW is 10st 7 & dukan suggested 10st 3. So somewhere along those lines, apparently it'll take me 2 months.

I only tend to eat one yoghurt, I was concerned that deviating too much would cause a slow down. Jenna said she has days off from dukan every now & again too. I'm not stressing, I just thought I'd mention it.

I have an app on my phone that says diet drinks are fine as they have aspartame in them as opposed to real sugar.

Lisa also said you can eat as many eggs as you like.

I like the fact dukan forces me to think about what I'm eating, whereas in the past I've just grabbed something from the freezer.

I keep forgetting to post updates in here on my weight loss journey.
As said in my last post (however long ago it was!) I have been following slimming world since end of november last year, At this weeks weigh in I am 1/2lb away from getting my 2 stone award (I had a couple of weeks where my weight was up and down). A month ago I also took up going to the gym and after a month lost 4.5 inches off my overall body measurements. This week I have started the 30 Day shred dvd alongside going to the gym.
I am feeling so good at the moment, I have dropped 2 clothes sizes since doing all of the above plus my fitness levels are so much better :D

A friend did diet chef and lost a fair bit of weight on it, it can be quite expensive though. slimfast and the like a really bad though, it's classed as a crash diet so the weight loss is only temporary.

Richard's finally joined me on dukan. His attack is for 8 days. I was fed up after 3! Hahahaa. PV today though.....get in!

Nothing like tucking in to a turkey burger at half ten at night to know you're on Dukan. Richard has lost half a stone & is now on cruise with me. I had to mix it up a bit so that we're PP & PV together as opposed to alternating days. I had veg
last night & then again for my dinner tonight & PP lunches each day.

I can't stop eating cereal though. I refuse to give it up.

I bought the Dukan Diet Life Plan from Tesco the other day so have a greater understanding of what we should/n't eat.

Original weight on May 21st: 12st 0lb

I've lost another 2lb....so close to a stone I can feel it!! Then I have another 10lb to lose & I'm there!!!! I'm tempted to find a contact email for Dr Dukan & thank him. Once I got the basics of the diet, it's been relatively issue free. For my lunch today I'm going to have fajita chicken (without the tortilla, cream etc)

Richard's been doing it a week less than me & has lost a stone - he's got another 2 or 3 to go, his consolidation stage is just shy of a year!

Nice job Sarah! Ive lost a stone, it was just over a stone i lost, but i had a bit of a bad month last month so it's a stone again, but thats only a 2lb gain in that month and most of that will be water.

Our food shop is due to be delivered tomorrow, so as soon as that arrives im kickstarting it. Though my husbands getting annoyed at the lack of variety, so we have decided that sweet potatoe and brown rice are ok in very small portions at the weekends only, as that doesnt seem to affect the diet and helps us get less bored.

Ive made PP and PV days the same each week, so Monday, Wednesday and Friday are PP and the rest are PV :) Seems to work and i remember better what day im on then.

I find the most helpful thing people can do is tell you what they eat on it... there will always be the odd thing you never thought of.

We mostly eat:

Breakfast
Muller light and oatbran (tried the oatbran galette... yuk)

Lunch
Lean bacon and poached egg and tomatoes.
Tuna and boiled egg salad.
Leek and onion soup.
Smoked mackerel, smoked salmon and prawns.
Grilled crispy lean bacon and boiled egg salad.

Dinners
chilli con carne served with veg.
Chicken in diet coke based bbq sauce (Mix tomatoe puree, can of diet coke, dash of worchester sauce and pinch oregano in a pan and reduce until it just pretty much coats the chicken).
Mix garam masala or curry powder and chilli with natural yoghurt and marinate raw chicken in it for a while then grill for tikka chicken.
Make your own meatballs and then have them in a basic tomatoe sauce make from can of tomatoes, garlic, onions, basil, chilli and seasonings. I also add loads of mushrooms and cut up corgettes and serve with brocolli.
Home made burgers.
Thai curry made with curry paste and light cream cheese (husband liked, i have aversion to cream cheese).
Beef Stir fry with teriyaki sauce (i still find it odd that teriyaki is ok).
Plain steak and poached egg.
Plain no skin chicken legs.

That's about it... on repeat week after week. Gladly interested in more ideas :) At least its bbq season, so that makes it easier!

Well done Jenna!!

I post most of my food on instagram, sometimes I'm inspired & other days I just pull whatever out of the freezer - for example yesterday was: B: cereal, L: crab sticks & yoghurt, D: garlic prawns, spicy chicken skewers & burgers.

On PV days I make a dinner more than anything. cauli, brocolli, sprouts & chicken/mince/beef etc. I've stopped buying bacon as pork isn't allowed, but we do eat cereal so I guess it's give & take.

I bought a book Jenna & that is pretty good. I made a quiche the other day - it was basically a baked omlette, but nice just to grab a bit & eat.

Yep i have the book you have (saw your pic on instagram) and i have the recipe book too... though nothing in it that ive tried is very nice :/

Lean bacon is allowed... you can buy it most places, but you could just get normal bacon and cut the fat off. I have no idea why lean bacon is allowed and pork isnt. It's a bit weird, but hey... ive been eating it and its worked ;)

Be wary of crab sticks. Unless you're getting proper surimi, then they're generally full of carbs and sugars.

Pork medallions are actually allowed with the American version. But then so is mushing a strawberry into your yoghurt every day. The diet varies between countries, although you will mostly come across the UK version. It basically changes because people struggle to find the ingredients.

The way i see it, if you bend the rules a bit to allow a bit more flavour on the food then it doesnt really hurt the diet and you are happier. It works for us anyways :) Rhubarb and custard is a good dessert too, if you dont mind useing your days two tolerated items in one sitting. We generally only have that once a week though.

As there seems to be so many low carbers on here,I thought I'd join in for some moral support :)
I'm Becca, and started a low carb plan 3 days ago.

Bit of backstory: I started the Dukan diet months ago but gave it up as it was far too restrictive for me, whereas I found the Atkins too fatty and picky.
So I'm kind of doing my own thing, using the rhythm of the Dukan diet but including normal fat cheese etc as I hate pretty much all low fat cheeses (believe me,I tried!), and trying to keep below 30g of carbs a day. It would probably be faster to follow the Dukan to the letter but I'd rather lose weight slower than be stricter and end up gorging on sweets on Day 5

I'm aiming to lose 2 stone,as that is what I've put on due to getting too comfy with the boyfriend!

I had a bit of a slipup today. I'm not very well and my boyfriend brought home some snacks for himself, then left again on an errand. I felt too ill to get a snack so I had fruit buns instead :?
That puts me on 63g of carbs today total. I'm not going to fret about it, because whilst thats not ideal,it's not like I had an entire packet of sweets or whatever,so I'm just going to extend my Attack phase by one day I think.
Also,I've been hearing different things about exercising on a low carb diet. Some people say it's fine, others say it slows weight loss. What do you guys think? :)

I would say it does slow. The days I do Zumba, unless I cheat on those days and have something I ordinarily wouldn't have like a piece of toast, I think I overwork my body and verge on starving myself. We tested the amount of calories we can work off in a Zumba class and it always tops 1000 so its kinda understandable.

However, I also think it helps in the long run. Last week I took a holiday from dieting. Ate loads of crap including two subways and a pizza hut(And cinnabuns...Shhh) and actually lost weight(2.4lbs).
I doubt that would have happened if I wasn't so active. For the record, I generally do Zumba twice a week(And sometimes more on the kinect) as well as the walking.

34.5lb down in total now >.<
