Alright, this is kind of sad and horrible of my, but... I am cracking up right now because my dog thinks I hate stairs and have anger problems.

Let me explain:

Recently, he decided, after months of virtually no accidents, to start marking the bottom of the stairs. He never did it when I was watching, so I never got a chance to tell him no; you're not supposed to reprimand a pooch unless you catch him doing something naughty. Finally, I caught him doing it, but it was as he was finishing and about to walk away. I thought I still had enough time, so I said "NO! BAD DOG!" and the whole finger wagging, scolding act.

Well, you know how they say "you can't punish a dog AFTER its done something wrong, because it won't know what you're punishing it for?"

Apparently 2 seconds is too long.

Now, every time I look at the stairs, then look at him, he sits down and drops his ears and looks down. I feel horrible about it but I can't help laughing at the same time, I think I'm allowed just one instance of being a bad puppy mom.

Plus, he knows he's not allowed upstairs, and the only time he is brought up there is bath time, so the stairs are already a source of horror and mystery for him. I think I'm scarring him for life.

I think it's funny too! You'll catch him in the act soon enough, then he'll understand what you mean.

I hope it's ok to resurrect this thread!

I've been in a perpetual grump these past few days - and this has just made me cackle with laughter, it's a promo for the new film "TED":

NOTE: it is nsfw and if you're not a fan of crudeness/swearing/Seth McFarlene then you might not find it as amusing as I did!!
