it is eerily quiet in here. What actually happened as to why peeps stopped posting in here? or is just cos people forget about it? I use to love it when the chat thread was buzzing, and now its not   and i miss chatting to you lovely lot on here.

so what is everyone upto?
me...not much. still cant walk to good, 15 months after my accident, and its still driving me insane!
i just want to be able to walk without my cructhes or wheelchair, but i can only manage to do that round the house, any further its still to much, as i still dont hhave enough felxibility in my ankle yet.

ive been making dreads, apart from the first couple of weeks every day since then and thankfully im not fed up with it or lost any passion. currently working on making some up to go witth the ones i won from lesley when she done her izzybeau fflash giveaway the otherweek . I have tohave something to keep me occupied :D :D :D

The reason why it's so quiet here now is because there's a billion watered-down versions of a dread community on Facebook.

That and people were too scared to post because of how mean everyone is. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I didn't really know where else to put this, but I've been thinking about it and wondered if anyone else has. I've been wearing synth dreads on and off for 11 years. I'm 30, and in the last phase of grad school before becoming a secondary school teacher. Lately, I've started to feel like synth dreads aren't really "me" anymore. I'm about to take down a set and do a glue-in set like the one I posted to show-offs almost three years ago. I'm really excited about it. Has anyone else kind of grown out of a signature style? What did you move from? What did you grow into? Did you feel kind of sad about it? I do. Anyway, hi. I've never posted in the general chatter threads before. Hope you don't mind, though it's awfully quiet in here compared even to a year ago. :)

Hello! I think everyone at some point thinks they're too old for their style. I stopped wearing dreads a couple of years ago, and just haven't been able to get back into it. I still have different coloured hair, but I just can't get into dreads. I probably would if I didn't have to watch my style for work though.

So. Watered down versions of dread forums. What the hell have they done? I haven't been interested in anywhere but here.

Ho hum.

I just turned 30 and although I still love dreads I by no means wear then to the same frequency I used to. I think it's also down to the fact I don't go out and socialise in the scene that much anymore and it seems a lot of effort to put my dreads in all the time :i9:

How was everyone's seasonal holiday?

well ive been wearing synths for over 20years now, and im 36. thhough there was afew years ago ihad real dreads for afew years. i cant get away from them though, im seriously addicted lol i dont go anywhere or do anything but usually always have a set in.
i havent been able to walk for the past 16 months , so ive been solidly making them all that time lol
i dont follow any fashion style or catergorize myself in any scene and i am just me so ive never reallyhad any image or scene to grow out of. though lately i have been debating wether to make and wear a more natural colour set. as i only ever usually wear bright colours.

sally xmas was fine for me, was actually probably the best xmas ive had in a while, cos usually i am up all night xmas eve doing the wrapping, and the kids usually get a ridiculous amount of stuff, thats its manic,, but this year the wrapping was done,so xmas eve night i could chill and we got the boys bikes and just a few things to open, got my daughter a few bits though, but they also did get much of either of our parents as they are skint and we told them not to, so it ended up just t he right amount. The first ever on xmas i actually had a tidy house lol cos i sorted the stuff straight away.
how was your festivities hon?

I went from wearing them pretty much constantly, to changing things up more with wefts etc, now I wear them very occasionally but I still like to look at them on others etc and I do other stuff to my real hair, still wear weft/loose extensions pretty often. I'm not always out clubbing anymore which might have something to do with it

and hellooooooo everyone! new posts!

Yah, I still love looking at dreads that others make/wear, but I think I'm taking a break from them for awhile. The rest of my "style" hasn't really changed, and I'm not abandoning a scene (you have to be part of one first!), but making, installing and taking down dreads over and over again is just losing its appeal. Maybe after some time off I'll feel like wearing them again.

Is anybody in the US and experiencing this ridiculous cold snap? The windchill in Chicago today was something like -45°F (-42°C). Ugh!

Hrm, dreads are no longer my thing either. I still like them, but the urge to wear them has dwindled to a feint whine a few hundred miles away, so I'm selling the ones I've not had the heart to get rid of until now.

I still shave my head & I still have it a weird colour, but the need for dreads has officially left the building.

I actually forgot about this place. Considering my post count, I find that surprising!

Mmmm, I've had a bit of sellers remorse but I'll get over it. Deleting all the hair things on facebook might help. IDK.

Speaking of deleting facebook, Amy?
