Aye. I think I'd nipped upstairs & left my phone downstairs when you messaged me.

Hmmmm.

I've just received an application to showcase my clothes at Newcastle Fashion Week.

I don't know if I can do it :/

TEN!

TEN OUTFITS TO MAKE AS A MINIMUM IN FOUR MONTHS!

I have until the end of the month to decide. In theory if I can create 3 or 4 outfits a month (!) then it's possible.

Shit on a stick.

Mmmm. The logical side of me is saying take a year & apply for 2014.

If it was 6-10 outfits, then maybe....maybe it'd be possible without my head screaming at me.

Edit: Jut decided I'm not doing it. I'm gonna go to college & learn some new techniques. It starts in April, I can;t be doing that, work, creating stuff for my "new line" AND trying to make outfits for a fashion show.

That way I can be 100% happy with what I make will be good enough (in theory!)

Fair play....it's something to aim for in the not too distant future after all. It's better to be somewhere you're really happy with, rather than rush it and end up not being happy with your results.

Exactly. This also give me time to master crochet, order more leather & finally, finally acquire an overlocker.

H&M especially is bloody obsessed with them, I saw a really nice leather gilet as well in another shop with the same. Gahhhh. I know they can be painted over, but these zips were fairly big and loads of them.

Talking of future endeavours, I have a business management course starting Monday. It's just a 3 day course to help me get a business plan together. Me and Dan really want to have our own cafe eventually but we're thinking of starting on a smaller scale. We're thinking either some sort of van/stall doing world food (we're both great at that sort of thing), you know like you get at festivals etc....OR doing the same food but delivered to your door, or as catering for informal dinner parties. We've been cooking a lot for friends recently and they've all said they'd pay us to cook for them and for dinner parties etc.

Our final goal is a standard cafe with a twist....we do a "World Food" special (including great veggie options) on each day of the week....so Mondays is Jamaican, Tuesdays Indian (for example).

What do you guys think? Is it something you'd like? Any ideas?

Sounds like a plan Liz!! There are a few vans near work - a sandwich, a hotdog and recently we got a pizza one - which is IMMENSE and the latest one is curry. *swoon* their food is amazing & only £3 for a massive thing of rice & curry. I much rather pay someone to make me something warm, out of those vans the sandwich one is the one I go to the least as the others IDK appeal to me more, almost like there is more effort in their food than just a sandwich.

And now I want a sandwich.

bugger.

That sounds great. The brilliant thing about things like curries etc is they're SO cheap to make, so overhead costs are down. I've always wanted to run a festival food van for years. I look at the prices they charge for mostly bland shit and think "I could do SO much better!"

Plus most veggie options ANYWHERE are dire, especially in cafes....so I'd like to change that. I'd like to get to a point where even meat eaters would choose a veggie option once in a while.

It sounds great Liz, I can really see you doing that.

First proper day off for ages here. By that, I mean with nothing pressing and a day to do it in. I've just tortured myself with an exercise binge and now I'm going to sack the housework and sit with some writing. Nice.

I've never done the 30-day shred btw; I've done P90X though, and I think that's similar. Do it Liz, you'll be proud of yourself.
What, that? It's a spade.

Aah, my bad Grace. I thought you had.

Today I've done very little - I've cleaned the fish tank out & entertained Korben. We've built puzzles & played some games.

I'm considering a mission out to Asda - it's a double bus ride though :/ I need a travel gate for Korben's room. He still has the sides up on his cot bed because his room is right by the stairs I don't want to remove the sides unless I know he can't wander about freely & the door frame is evil so a normal one won't fit.

We had a similar problem when Elfin was small; ours are both the steepest and narrowest stairs known to man.

I did Step aerobics this morning, followed by a belly workout and a lower body one. I'm feeling quite tired now, shame we're on our way to gymnastics.

It's feeling mighty cold here, all of a sudden.

We had the sides of the cotbed when Evelyn was quite young as she kept climbing over the top and it was a long way down! Ee opted for the stairgate on her bedroom door. But she opens it extremely easily now. She has mastered opening 3 different kinds of stairgates, which is extremely annoying lol.

Had a fairly good day in work today, excited to be off to London tomorrow. Will be going to the natural history museum for the first time :)

We got rid of the stair gates downstairs ages ago - Richard broke one being a spakker and the other one just did my head in. The one I'm after doesn't open, it just fits in to place.

Bah. Richard said it's too late to sew, so that's another evening's time gone to fucking waste. Apparently I should sew during the day. Tomorrow I have an eye test, Saturday we're off to Morpeth, Sunday we're at a friends house for the afternoon, Monday I'm visiting another friend. So I've got Tuesday & Wednesday. Fan-fucking-tastic.

I guess the least I can do is begin drafting some patterns. FFS.

You'll get used to it, Liz! Since I've been doing a lot of weight training, it's a rare day that I don't hurt in at least one place

Not up to much at the weekend, dinner with my sister and brother in law, so that will be nice. The OH is out on the piss tonight, so I doubt he'll be up to doing much tomorrow. Plus I have a big workout planned anyway  how about you?

Ours is forecast for Monday/Tuesday.

So, mission korben sides off cot sorta happened. Apparently the frame itsn't actually sturdy enough despite it being a frikking cot bed!! So he has a "day bed" and after scratching my head trying to figure out the "helpful" diagram on the saftey gate I've managed to wedge it on his door frame & still close the bedroom door :D

My fabric for my FOUR commissions hasn't arrived yet :( I'm out all day tomorrow. I'm just hoping my neighbour is home & the postie leaves it with her otherwise I'm slightly screwed.

Tonight will involve more leather cutting (foolish mistake on my side)

I'm just in from a very eventful day at work. Social media policy forbids me from saying anything more than wow.

Paul is cooking, Jordan is working on her dissertation and Elfin is doing her conditioning ahead of a big training session in the morning.

Think I might spew a few more words into my computer.
