We were never asked, but our song would have been Promises by Megadeth.

I love metal and so does my OH, but in a non metal move we have picked.......
'shes like the wind' by patrick swayze to be our first dance song! awesome tune. I would like 'cemetary gates' or 'this love' by pantera though

The show must go on. Inside my heart is breaking, my makeup may be flaking but my smile still stays on.

I'd quite happily have played (not metal, more under the "rock" banner) Bon Jovi "Always" :p
But choices of metal songs all fall with Metallica;
Nothing Else Matters
For Whom The Bell Tolls (Paul's choice)
So F**king What (Paul's choice again )

i walked down the isle to coheed and cambria, and we both walked back up the isle as man and wife to nightwish, then as i had my way with both of those songs, i let him choose our 1st dance which was madness. i ended up giving the dj at the reception a cd with all the metal songs i wanted playing, then the best man did the same with a punk cd, so it ended up a little battle of metal and punk lol.

my bf and i are planning on combining "a warm place" and "right where it belongs" by nine inch nails for our first song. not really metal, but it's still not a typical wedding song

First dance type song or walking down the aisle..?
Walking down the aisle, we had an instrumental version of O Mio Babino Caro.
We didn't have an official 'first dance', but I insisted we danced to David Bowie, As the World Falls Down from Labyrinth
....the reception was basically just a hall with rest of our, rather heavy, music collection playing all night

My brother and sister-in-law used that song in their wedding.littlepinkfaery wrote:We had ' nothing else matters' by Metallica
As for me, I used the instrumental version of Trois Vierges by Epica to walk in to and Ghost Love Score by Nightwish to walk out.

I walked down the aisle to 'Path' by Apocalyptica. It starts off all classical and then suddenly turns heavy... lull the guests into a false sense of security hehehe.
Rhaeniel - we were going to dance to As The World Falls Down too . We decided against a first dance in the end, though. We just led the first dance at the ceilidh (traditional Scottish folk dancing, for anyone not in the know )

Re: To all the Metal Music Lovers... Wedding song?
I was mostly thinking of down the isle type song
he refuses to dance so there will be no first dance haha...
i dont mind metal but im not a huge metal head, but he is
he loves dark tranquility and a bunch of other bands but thats the main one that i know
i guess i just cant picture any metal song symbolising love i dont want a song about death or anger etc at my wedding but i dont really care for your typical lovey dovey crap either ! we have no idea at all

We didn't really play a song at any specific moment, but during the evening party we mostly played Demons&Wizards and Sonata Arctica

Re: To all the Metal Music Lovers... Wedding song?
I was thinking about this recently, in case I had a wedding, as opposed to just getting married. Sonata Arctica is top of my list, especially as I met that doofus when he ran the UK fansite for them. Matthew likes more of the power metal though, as opposed to actual metal.
Walking up the aisle I'd have an edited version of The Dawn by Dreamtale. It's just an instrumental song but it's pretty nice. Thinking about it now, that's the only song I've ever heard by the band!
