black wine, deep purple, and orchid crochet naturals
so here they are, still a bit sleek, shortly after sealing by pouring boiling water on them. my first go with crocheting dreads was remaking the black and green twisted transitionals, and then i had a go with some awful cheap hair from sallys that just would not seal at all, and then i got my package from IKS yesterday and started on these. i love love love them! the hair seals up just the way i was hoping! i love the colours. i'm hoping i can get enough dreads out of the hair i have to do a full install. if i do i will add pictures. this picture isn't the best (evening natural light sucks), but i couldn't wait to take a picture and get some criticism!
first three dreads on the left are black wine, the next one is a blend of black wine and orchid, then a deep purple solid, then deep purple and orchid blend, and then a solid orchid. i'm also hoping to wave/trim up the ends as well.
please let me know what you think!! i would love some pointers. i'm going for a very natural look. i want my dreads to look real, even though the colours are bright/different. this was also my first try at blends, which i am very pleased with.
eta: here's some better pics:

Ahh these are so pretty! I love the colors you chose and everything!
Personally I think they're a little perfect looking for a very 'natural' style, but that's really just a preference thing. They're looking good! Can't wait to see them installed!

i totally agree, they're a bit slick looking. i'm hoping they'll fluff up a bit more, i did take this picture pretty shortly after boiling. i might crochet them a bit more so they're not as slick if they don't fluff up.
eta: yes they definitely look a lot better this morning since they've dried out more. i will try and get some more pictures up later. i really love them!

you guys are awesome, thanks so much. i really have been working hard on them! i feel like just by doing it more and more i'm getting faster and finding ways to tighten them up faster. i hope i can make enough to do a full install. i'm really obsessed with black wine, it's such a great colour.ikickshins wrote:I think they look fantastic, and you don't need to improve or change anything

I adore these and agree you don't need to change a thing with them. Gorgeous blend and choice of colours.

They look pretty dead on in comparison to the real dreads that i've had in the past! Really pretty.
