My first SE attempt

Post by Izzybeau » Thu Dec 29, 2011 4:00 pm

Hi all,

So I've had a go at some SE synths (2x wrappys 2x plain). Please can you let me know your opinions.
They are extremely fuzzy, so I need to improve my technique, and I've got to work on the tidyness of the loops and ends, but I'm hoping I'm going in the right direction. Any advice or critism welcome.

Tis defiantly a step in the right direction! I'm curious about now you seal the ends?

I steam seeled the dreads and then nipped the ends of with my flat iron. Not sure if I did that right, so I guess more tutorials are called for lol

i personally think dreads look better with fuzzies, when i make mine i try and make them as fuzzy as possible, but the fuzziness does actually wear down with wear,
i think you are definitly going in the right direction, one of them looks like it does need a lot more backcoming, but it all comes with practise.
i too am curios how youve done the ends as to me it look s like theyve been burned or done with a braid sealer, which if so you probably want to avoid doing

I too agree that you're starting off great and also agree with TrippyTroll that the one in the very middle could use a bit more backcombing but fuzzy is normal. You can trim the bits with scissors (just be sure not to nip into the dread) but you're doing really well.
