Third attempt at SE

Hi everyone :)

I decided after a very long break at making dreads (its been at least a year) I would have another go at dreading. After back combing, my dread was definitely 'anti-gravity' as it stood up on end. I used the clothes iron method to seal the dread.

Also, I twisted my dread straight after I finished back combing to check for bumps, but it wouldn't stand up after that, is that normal? :?:

That looks fantastic!Super smooth, not too fuzzy, the loop looks excellent and the end looks great :i2: You win!

And as to your question about it standing up... I'm pretty sure that's normal, the same exact thing happens to me, it'll be sticking straight up to the point where I can wave it around, but if I smooth it down or twist it like you said it doesn't stand up again. I'm not a pro but all my dreads have held up fine so far :)

Now go make a full set and put it in your hair! :D

Looking good! You're correct about the backcombed hair standing up but not the dread. You'd have sonic hair if it stayed rigid!

(I say that, I make teeny baby-length dreads that stay standing up because they're short. So awesome for spiky falls :D)

Thanks everyone, the reply's have really brightened my day! It's good to know that the dread shouldn't stay rigid (although sonic hair would be pretty awesome...). I'll definitely post a pic of the full set once i'm done :D

They should stick out a bit, then fall down like in that article.
