Felted or just palm rolled?
Image isn't that great tbh in order to give decent critique

It looks very short, I'm guessing as it's your first you're just experimenting? I agree with Mon, needs more felting, have you just felted it once?

Re: My first wool roving dread
Are you using hot water? Like freshly boiled (or as hot as you can stand) it helps felt it up.

Re: My first wool roving dread
You want the water as hot as your hands can handle. Don't hurt yourself, but I know I sweat while felting due to the heat of the water. You may want to try putting your water in an ice chest so that it doesn't cool off as fast. If you want to try your hand at wiggly roving, I have a tut over here>> viewtopic.php?f=65&t=15567angeleyes90 wrote:I used kettle hot boiling water should I just use as hot as I can get?

try twisting as you take it out the water- it helps to get rid of that line down the middle- getting rid of that line takes practice

Another tip is to use rubber or latex gloves as you can get the water even hotter then
