Dreads: synth and roving. Many pictures!

Post by Yordan » Fri Apr 08, 2011 2:49 pm

I'm making my second set of dreads for someone else, I've been making dreads for myself for a year and last summer made dreads for a friend in scotland.
Ok here are the dreads I'm making atm, these are the ones I've made so far, they do need another seal or 2 but I just thought I'd get some feedback so far!

She wants purple and black, I'm debating making some candycanes and transitionals to go with them.

They are quite thin, and have rather whippy ends!

Here's my first serious attempt at roving:

I just played around with thickness and length. The first time I tried making roving dreads it just wouldn't turn out right but this time I used washing up liquid instead of soap and it was much easier.
Heres some double ended dreads I made many months ago, they've been reaseal since then but it was my first go and I had lots of colours to play around with.

I don't have any pictures of her wearing them except this :(

Let me know what you think!

It was your woolies that inspired me :D I can't get the ends neat but I kinda like them a bit wiggly/wispy at the ends

Lol I think I backcomb too much so I can't do anything but whippy ends! Maybe if I try making thicker dreads I can kinda try tapering them a bit more or less and see what happens lol.

I have to get me a pet brush/cat comb as well, see if I get better results! Or at least backcomb faster!

Thank you :D the first set isn't completed yet, the pink and blonde falls have some turquoise splashes as well, you can't really see them in that picture :(
