Best clips for mounting full, heavy cyberlox falls?

Post by [Phexxie] » Sun Jun 12, 2011 4:32 pm

I have recently purchased some beautiful dreads, but much to my despair i have been told by work that i cant wear them because they are 'too extreme'

so, i have decided to embark on making a set of cyber falls!

having never made cyber falls before, and anticipating these to be fairly big and heavy, im wondering which type of clip would be best to use for comfort and security

i cant use the usual elastic tie option as my hair is too short to make decent sized buns, coupled with a deathhawk cut
i also cant wear wigs as i find them uncomfortable, itchy and annoying
so clips are my only option!

the falls will involve:
28 SE dreads of varying lengths (a-line set) 14 per fall up to 18-20" long
foam
crin
possibly tubing
plastic if i can get hold of any
so theyre going to be pretty hefty falls!

i know there is a tutorial hanging around somewhere that uses the common 'jaw' clips, but i wonder if they will flop around and be a bit bulky?
im considering octopus clips, as they lie flatter to the head and this gives me the impression that they will be more secure and comfortable, but possibly not big enough for all the materials

im planning to make them the 'usual' way, but mounting on lace/elastic first then attaching to the clips, but im not even sure if this will be the best method because of all the materials involved!

any suggestions?
