I threw together a dread wig a couple of months ago and used those silicone ouchless elastics to secure the braids. They weren't cheap, and I expected them to last longer than the dollar store ones I have tried out in the past.
So, lovelies... what do you use when securing braided-in dreads? I have some orthodontic bands kicking about my craft room, but am concerned that they will be painfully obvious on a black-and-red wig.
Argh- elastics snapping on my dread wig!

Re: Argh- elastics snapping on my dread wig!
The bands IKS sells are excellent, I've never had any snapping issues with them. I've even been able to re-use some of them! Of course, it's probably not much help if you don't plan to order from her any time soon... But they're the best I've used.
