Post by Matea » Sun Feb 28, 2010 4:25 am

I saw these (I THINK theyre hair extensions) in harpers bazaar ukraine. I've seen images of girls in japan with hair like this too. can anyone tell me where to get these from online, or even just what theyre called?

I could be totally wrong but it looks to me like its a fishbone/indian braid done across the hairline and down that has had the hair pulled loose of it. Its hard to tell though.

I think you are right on both counts; that it is a fishbone braid and also a hairpiece. The texture isn't matching what you can see of her own hair for me.

In the spirit of this forum, if you can't find what you are looking for online, why not attempt to make one yourself? If you found a fishbone tutorial (unless you already know how) and some cheap synthetic hair, it could be easier than you think. And certainly worth a go, it does look very effective. ;)
What, that? It's a spade.

no, these are like a feather boa with hair! I havr seen them for sale at a stall at Whitby Goth Weekend, also i think you can get them on ebay from wild cat wigs.

I *think* they are sometimes wired as well so they are poseable!

Yep, Amphigory sells the wired kind but, as far as I remember, they're not as long as the one above & only come in a few fantasy colors. I have it in red & pink. I'd think tying or sewing some synthetic hair to string or even manipulating a weft or two together could achieve the look above.

I think that you may go for another shopping
or search online store for the better match.
