Tiedye wool dreads

Post by Desiree » Fri Aug 05, 2016 6:00 am

Many years ago I tryed to make wool dreads. I got the cheapest wool I could get - a not very pretty apple green colour, but it was just to try the technique, so I didn't mind.
I didn't like the process of having my hands in water for so long, but made the green dreads and never looked back.

I found these dreads and didn't want them to go to waste, so I thought that I'd try different dying technique in stead.
So I mixed up some acid powder colour (orange and purple to get brown dye) and knotted the dry dreads up - some I put elastik bands around. And dumped them in the brown dye. Then rinsed, made different knots and ties and did it again with black dye.

The result was camouflage military dreads :)
