roving twists unraveling

Post by slaaneshque » Sat May 14, 2011 1:44 am

I found some very lightly felted roving in my closet, so I tried to twist it up to make two-tone extensions. Epic fail. They turned out like this:

They're not "sticking," and the ends are all scraggly and terrible. Do you just keep felting them over and over again? Is that how they come together? When you felt them, do you roll them like regular roving dreads? I tried that and they just kept unraveling... I also tried machine felting them. What do you recommend? And for the ends, how do you get them to be more uniform? Thank you!

(I know there are a few threads on this style and I read the ones I could find, followed the suggestions and still ended up with...these...so I apologize for the redundancy. :i3: )
