Full Head with only 50 dreads

I'm going back to uni soon and don't have time to buy more wool roving, wait for it to arrive, then make dreads, thought I had enough but I sooo don't XD

I have about 50 SE dreads, and I thought I'll just use those and maybe plait/braid the rest of my hair to fill it out?
Or maybe just the 50 dreads on their own would look alright..

Just wondering if anyone has any pics of dread extensions when there hasn't been like 120 used, or if people have ideas of ways to style my hair with 50ish dreads

50 SE's is gonna be REALLY sparse. I need 30 DE's & I shave off a good 60% of my hair. You'll need more. You could try dread & briad, but I don't know how that'd look.

Hey dude, this is me with about 60ish SEs installed...



I suppose it depends on how thick they are, but if give yourself a large fringe, and install them close down your part and at your crown and then use way bigger sections underneath you might be fine?

I found some more wool roving I'd forgotten about so I will actually have 70ish dreads YAY I'm saved haha

Ahh, yes. I hadn't thought of thickness & woo for finding more roving!!

With the rest of the roving I found, plus using the scraps I ended up with 79 dreads WOOOOOOO

the one time that i used SE i made 110 dreads and thought that would be enough. wrongo. i section very small and my dreads are about sharpie thickness. i ended up needing around 130. it sucks when you get to the top and realise you dont have enough hahha

I currently have 27 SE's in my hair, and it's a little sparse, but i'm certainly not bald. That being said, i have a big fringe and very thin hair. I have never been able to get more than 45 DEs into my hair at a time.

This instal is 36 DEs i believe. Unfortunately, you can't really see the back so well.

how do you get the two colours along one dread - im very new to this!!! Ive tried making some purple ones but they arnt tight enough ive been using bubble wrap to roll but someone sed bamboo is better???

can anyone give me anykind of advice - would be much appreciated

if you mooch round the board you will come across every thing that you need to know and do you mean transistionals or candy canes? if you type in either of those in the search box it will bring up different threads on the subject, but my best advice would be to definitly look through the board theres some top stuff out there to help you along your way xxx
