Angora/Cashmere roving

Post by Librarynerd » Fri Sep 24, 2010 2:10 am

I was wondering if any of you have tried using an angora/merino blend roving to make dreads?

I did some searching on the web an found lots of exotic roving for sale. Musk Ox, Llama, Alpaca, Cashmere, Angora, even Australian Possum! and loads of blends.

Not to gross anyone out but I was thinking about this when I was brushing out my long haired cat and looking at the big pile of super soft cat hair :i6: Believe it or not there are people that spin, knit, and felt cat and dog hair from their pets. It would take a lot of cats to make a set of dreads LOL. I'm not to that level of crazy cat lady yet

I know linziloop has made alpaca dreads.

I have (& I know a few others) have used silk blends with nice results. Basically, the only thing you can do, is try.
