have i made a terrible mistake?

i set out on my roving quest this weekend, felted, dyed, re-felted, the works. this board was invaluable.

now i'm trying to figure out how to put my lovely dreads (which i made double-ended since it seemed most common) onto elastic for dread falls... doing a larks head knot in the middle of each seemed most appropriate, except for the fact that i can only seem to get 10 or so onto the amount of space the elastic would take up around a bun. does that even make sense???

freaking out a bit, since i hung them to dry over the middle of a clothes-hanger and thus are a bit crimped and not really suitable for single-ended dreading. plus, they'd be too long.

is there another way to secure them??? WHAT DO I DO? aaaaah!
