anchoring braids with micro/shrink links?

I seem to remember someone posting a tut about this a looooonnnng time ago but can't find it. it was on short hair and the braiding hair was anchored in with either micro links or shrink links to hold it, then more looped behind it, wrapped around to disguise and then braided down as normal. does anyone do this or have a tut? thanks.
