hello all,
I've been searching the web for months trying to find a place like this! I'm very glad I did, and I have learned more in a day on here than I had in forever on all the other lame places I found
My cousin started her real dreads a year or 2 ago, and ever since I've wanted them, but unfortunately I work in a professional setting, in rural Iowa, USA, where just my nose piercing was quite a shock - so I needed a way to have dreads that I could take out easily!
I made a few sets of SEs that were wearable with a headband...then got busy with life and now am back at it. My most recent set is basically a fall, on a ponytail though. It's only about 20 dreads, so I have them pinned up in this photo so you can't see the rest of my head

I can't wait to start working on my set of DE naturals, which I am going to install semi-permanently.

Hey guys! My name is Jo or Kuro. I am 23 years young and I first started wearing dreads when my mother decided at age 8 she wasn't going to attempt to brush my bum length hair any longer so I get real dreads. I brushed them out at 12 and kept my hair the same length (we used all asda's stock of fairy liquid!) then i tried making synthetics and loved it been wearing on and off ever since.

I even made some for my kitty, she didn't approve. I mainly wear a black base and add a few colours but i'm plucking up the guts to do a full head colour

I'm doing a masters in Forensic Science whilst working on placement as a scenes of crime officer, the are dread friendly, so far anyway!

I am new to this form. I live in Nova Scotia Canada.
although I have known about this form for a few years now I never actully took the time to sign up. I used to do alot of buying and selling on vampirefreaks.com which is where I first heard about this site from Jamie @ Dread to be diffrent, I used to go under the name xWynterx. I havent touched VF in awhile. I do all my work on Facebook now

I have roughly 4 years or so experence with making my own dread extensions and falls, I had made a few sets for customers a few years back but never go into selling offically, I mostly concerned myself with buy/sell/trade which was fine at the time. I have been selling consistantly since the end of september this year and all my customers appear to be pleased with my work which makes me happy because its something that I enjoy doing. there are some techniques I dont know how to do that I would absolutly LOVE to learn, like how to make lepordprint dreads...im dying to know.

I could go one forever but I think I will leave it at this for now. Now I have to figure out how to post pictures and whatnot.

Hi, Im Lynny, up till now I had only joined for the thread about the company that shall not be named. But now after looking around I realize this is an amazing group of people with a wealth of knowledge. Ill be honest, I am a mad crafter. After my experieance with the company, I decided to make my own dreads and have been doing so for a bit now. I also make zany top hats, clothes, aprons, refurbish furniture from the side of the road and pretty much anything else I can attack with paint or a powersander.

Well first of all, my name is Tori and I have been a member of Vampire Freaks.com since early 2004 (I know crazy, eh?) Anyways, I have also been a member to a lovely little 'group' that I do know that some of you are familiar with. Dread_To_Be_Diffrent, I have also been in with TheHairPolice for a while on Myspace but have not been to that site's page in SOOO long. Anyways, I think that should tell you that I am very familiar with what I like and want involving real and synthetic hair.

I have really been starting an interest in hand/palm rolled dreads lately but have yet to find anyone that makes them, 9at least well enough for my taste). I just randomly stumbled across this little forum site and so far enjoyed it so much that I decided to join you all. ^_^

I'm Tara, I'm currently 18 years old and I live in Manitoba, Canada.

My interest with hair all started back in grade 6, with dying my hair semi-permanent colors, from that I went on to dying my hair at every chance I could, by the end of grade nine I had started loosing hair, in little chunks from dying my hair so much. I first got into the synthetic dreads, after seeing dozens of pictures. The first set of synthetic dreads I bought were double ended, and I love them. After that I found a couple tutorials online on how to make some, and I started from there. (:

n the way of fake hair I tend to specialise in corridale wool dreadlocks, however i have exprence with crin, foam and synthetic. I started out by making my own dreadlocks, I then started making dreadlocks for freinds and my business developed from there. Random info about me: Im a very proud Brightonian, Im looking to experiment with hair for myself rather than for others, I have alot of tattoos and alot of piercings. My hair is always green, maybe ill have accents of other colours.... I wont flood this thread with radom info about myself.

Im not all that great at things like this but, here it goes.

My names Jennifer...but lately I prefer Jenni.
I live in a small town in Washington called Aberdeen. Anyone who knows anything about Kurt Cobain knows it' was his hometown as well. I believe I hate it just as much as he did. lol

I started dying my hair when I was in sixth grade, changing the color once or twice a month. Needless to say it's quite damaged from years of such treatment. it wasn't until 2 or 3 months ago that I became aware of synthetic hair, and fell in love with the idea instantly. I just bought my very first set of 75 DEs in Natural shades of black, brown, light brown and auburn. They actually came in the mail today! I'll have em installed next we...Im pretty excited yet a bit nervous because once I saw them in person they reminded me of Whoopi Goldberg. I'm scared to death once installed I'll look like her. Ridiculous as that sounds, she frightened me as a child....

Anyway, thats it. Im new...pretty shy....very curious.
