Re: Been bored
I used to do that too. I used toothpicks a ton. Hahaha.dreadstarrs wrote:nice! when i used to put effort into my nails, i would sometimes use toothpicks or needs/safety pins to sketch the designs. that was back in high school though. i am sure there has got to be a more efficient way to do it. yours turned out really neatly.

marble was easy once I figured out the trick, but frustrating when it doesnt come across just right. The spider web...lil hard mostly because you need a steady hand and tiny brush

Re: Things I have been doing
I changed the title of this post to things I have been doing so I dont have to make a new topic everytime I want to share something I have been playing with. Which this week is premo dough, motivated by all the amazing things I have seen everyone on here do. I went out and bought just one 2 ounce pack to see how it was to work with so I of course made my daughter a little something. Here is my first attempt....
A scorpion sign necklace in green about 2 inches tall, I laid out a penny to get a general size idea.
sorry for the crappy cell phone pic..

New nails....Springy flowers
playing with polymer...
the lollipop needs redone with a better hook once I get some proper wire but this was all just first trys, the orange and blue piece at the end is for my boyfriends son, he wanted those colors, its a pisces sign, I made a bead and added it at the top so it looks less like an H. lol

Re: Things I have been doing*added new stuff 5/27*
Thank you, the trick to the marbling is number one tape off your fingers around the nail. Why I did not think to do this on my own I dont know. But it keeps everything easier to clean up after. The other trick, which most tutorials I saw did not say or agree with is the water HAS to be room temperature. To hot or to cold and it does not work well at all. Next drop the colors in one drop at a time, better to drop one inside the previous one. letting them spread. Then the hardest part is marbling it with a toothpick without pulling up the film of color, then just lay your finger over the color submerging it into the water nail side down of course and quickly take the tooth pick to pull any excess color off the top of the water and pull out your finger. Try not to leave your finger in the water to long or you can get some bubbling. Next give a lil shake to get off water left on there, take off tape, clean up with a q tip dipped in polish remover then topcoat well! Sounds harder than it is.

That marbling is amazing - I've never seen anything like that before. Great polymer work too

Every time I try and make a tutorial I realize how much of a tool I sound like. LOL. Not to mention how much I sound like my mother, its disturbing.
Here is one of many that are already up. I would like to add though taping off your finger around your nails saves alot of clean up but of course takes some time to do. And when removing the skin to let it spread be careful not to pull everything off. Also do marbling on top of base coat color.

Finding that tutorial I ran into this one from the same girl, I suggest subscribing to her as she has some great designs for anyone who likes nail art but this one I had actually thought of doing once but wasnt sure if it would work. Now I am defiantly going to try it when my nails have a break.

Re: Things I have been doing*added new stuff 5/27*
So I got this idea from a video from a youtube person that I watch and wanted to see if I can do it. Mine is not nearly as good as hers but I still like it. I knew I couldn't do the silhouette on the right thumb so I just did initials.

Re: Things I have been doing*new nails up!6/4*
I totally would do nails professionally if I could handle the smell of the fake nails. It gives me migraines, just being near the place in the mall to long tends to give me a bit of a headache. I really wish my silhouette would of turned out a bit better but this was my first time using my artist brushes with the polish. Maybe next time it will be better, glad you liked them though!
